Faith Connection Covenat Church is a new church in Washington, KS.
It began with a small group at the parent church (Clay Center Covenant) in Clay Center dreaming about bringing what they had to Washington. A group formed and began praying about it in 2009. After lots of prayer and over time the group formed into a bible study. That bible stuy formed into a Launch Team and on October 6th, 2013 it launched its weekly worship services.
We've been meeting in Mayberry's (307 C. Street, Washington, KS) on Sundays. This location has provided a wonderful space for people to come that wouldn't darken the door of a church.
We meet for weekly weekend worship at 9:30 am and provide children's church for newborns to 3rd grade.

Life works best when guided and deeply influenced by His word.
We were created to create and innovate in a way that makes God real to the world around us.
God's message was for all people and so is Faith Connection. We strive to include everyone in participating in God's work in Washington. We feel this is one of the best ways to introduce people to the life changing relationship with God and His hope for our lives.
The Good news of God affects all aspects of our life and drives us to care for people in all areas.
Families are important to God and so they are important to us.
We are all about the "capital C" church. We are better together.

Hello, my name is Rustin McClure and I just wanted to take this space to inroduce myself. I grew up in a rural area of SE Kansas. This hearitage has given me a unique passion for seeing churches planted in rural Kansas.
Prior to becoming a church planter, I made my living as a firefighter on the Wichita Fire Department. During my time on the department I got to see first hand how messed up the world we live in truly is. The time I spent running call after call to shootings, drug OD's, stabbings, suicides, drownings, burns (you get the idea...) convinced me without a shadow of a doubt that this world is truely hopless without Christ. It was from this that I was led to go back to my heritage (rural Kansas) and reach out to those not being reached by His message.
I came into contact with the Clay Center Covenant Church because I had heard they were actively working on a church plant in rural Kansas. Our relationship developed and they called me into ministry to take point on the Washington church plant that is now Faith Connection. I'm beyond excited to be part of what God is doing in Washington.
I'm a simple guy and have a pretty straight forward ideas for ministry. I figure the more it looks like the way Christ lived His life the better off we are. If Christ fed the hungry (He did) then maybe we should do that. If Christ spent time in prayer (He did) then maybe we should also. Not rocket science, but practically implementing the lifestyle that Christ modeled.
More suggestions? Click on Contact and send them my way and we'll get them added.
There are a few different ways that you can support Faith Connection and what God is doing.
The number one way to support Faith Connection Covenant Church is to do so in prayer. Prayer is something that we deeply value and Faith Connection. We meet every Sunday for what we call our "Weekend Worship." It is a time that we set aside weekly to come together as a group and worship God. We spend time worshiping God, praying and studying His word.
Sunday's at 9:30 am
The service usually lasts a bit over an hour. However, everyone sticks around and visits afterwords and enjoys coffee and donuts.

We love children and provide childrens church for newborns to 3rd grade. We do this so that parents are able to worship without feeling like they need to take care of their little ones. We feel that after age 5 that children should begin to be transitioned into participating in the Weekend Worship. So based on this the K-3 age group worships with the adults and then transitions for a message made relevent for them during the sermon. We feel this is an important step to prepare kids to begin participating in meaningful ways in the church.
Children's church is located in the basement of the Washington County Newspaper Office. On Sunday monrings we have an A-frame sign indicating the location.
Whatever you feel comfortable in. It is an informal enviroment and want people to feel comfortable and like themselves. Rustin delivers the weekly message in jeans if that is any indicator for you.
